Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has demonstrated his commitment to education by donating GH₵500,000 to the Ga Education Fund during a grand durbar held in his honour by the Ga State on Sunday (9 June).
Led by the Ga Mantse, Nii Teiko Tsuru II, the event celebrated unity and cooperation between the Ashanti and Ga peoples.
Speaking through his interpreter, the Asantehene expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality of the Ga State and emphasized the importance of unity among Ghanaians.
He called for solidarity between the Ga and Ashanti people, urging all Ga chiefs to unite behind Nii Teiko Tsuru II for the region’s development.
“The people of Ga and Ashanti must unite to develop our peoples. Unity and development must be our focus in the interest of our children,” Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphasized.
Highlighting the role of modern chieftaincy, the Asantehene stressed prioritizing development over territorial disputes.
“The current fight should be for development to benefit future generations,” he added.
Reciprocating the support, he received during his 25th-anniversary celebration, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II thanked Nii Teiko Tsuru II and pledged ongoing support for the Ga Mantse’s development initiatives.
