Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and his running mate Dr. Mahamadu have received a significant boost in their campaign for the upcoming December 7 elections, following a high-profile blessing from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
This took place on Sunday (4 August) at the ‘Akwasidae’ festival in London, UK.
Dr. Prempeh, who is a grandson of the Asantehene, seized the opportunity to request his grandfather’s blessing for both himself and Dr. Bawumia.
In a ceremonious gesture, the Asantehene called Napo to kneel before him and placed his hand on Napo’s forehead, murmuring a blessing that was met with enthusiastic applause from the attendees.
The gesture symbolized a deeply personal and political endorsement that is expected to energize the NPP’s campaign.
This royal blessing is anticipated to provide a powerful boost to the NPP’s efforts as they aim for a historic electoral victory. It also comes as the party prepares to launch its manifesto in the Western Region on 18 August.
