Over 30% of teachers who sat for the 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) 2&3, totaling 9,556 out of 20,181 candidates, have failed to meet the pass mark, according to the National Teaching Council (NTC).

The official results are scheduled for release on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Among the candidates, 10,625 teachers, representing 52.6%, have passed the exams.

In a statement, the NTC outlined the processes for candidates to check their results, indicating that the results will be published on its website.

Candidates can access their results using either the unique examination pins provided during registration, or their examination index numbers along with their phone numbers. The NTC advises candidates to print their provisional certificates after checking the results.

The outcome of the GTLE is significant for teachers in Ghana, as it is a licensure examination that assesses their competence and qualifies them to practice as professional teachers. The results play a crucial role in determining the certification and licensing of teachers in the country.
