The Jubilee Park in Kumasi was a hub of excitement and joy on Friday (14 June), as the Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, celebrated his 56th birthday with a grand event for school children.
The celebration, which originally fell on 23 May, was marked by a festive gathering that brought together young students for a memorable day of fun and entertainment.
Dr. Prempeh, who has been a significant figure in Ghanaian politics and development, chose to celebrate this milestone with the younger generation.
The event featured various activities, including games, music, and dance, creating an atmosphere of joy among the children.
In his address, Dr. Prempeh expressed his gratitude for the support he has received over the years and emphasized the importance of education and youth development.
He encouraged the students to focus on their studies and strive for excellence, assuring them of his continued support.
The highlight of the event was when Dr. Prempeh joined the children on the dance floor, moving to the tunes of popular songs, including King Paluta’s “Aseda,” which added to the festive mood of the celebration.
The children together with their teachers, visibly thrilled to celebrate with the lawmaker, enjoyed the day to the fullest, making the event a resounding success.
Thousands of exercise books and other stationery were also donated to the pupils as part of the event.
