The Ghana Police Service has taken immediate action by interdicting Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, who serves at the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region.

This decision comes in response to allegations of professional misconduct, which surfaced after a viral video showed the officer assaulting a civilian.

In a statement, the Police explained that the interdiction is intended to ensure a comprehensive investigation into the officer’s behavior, as outlined in the Police Service Regulations.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has also intervened personally, reaching out to the victim’s family to offer the Service’s support. Additionally, the IGP has instructed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work closely with the family to address the situation appropriately.
