President Akufo-Addo confers ‘Order of the Star of Ghana’ on Dr. Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has received the prestigious Order of the Star of Ghana – Officer Award during the 2024 Ghana National Honours and Awards ceremony.

 

The award, presented by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, acknowledges Dr. Bawumia’s remarkable service, unwavering dedication, and significant contributions to Ghana’s development.

 

The event, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrated individuals and institutions for their exceptional commitment to advancing the nation’s progress.

 

Dr. Bawumia, renowned for his leadership and expertise in economic management, was commended for his instrumental role in shaping Ghana’s economic policies and championing digital transformation initiatives.

 

This recognition highlights his pivotal contributions to governance and public service over the years.

 

The Order of the Star of Ghana, the nation’s highest honour, is reserved for individuals who have rendered outstanding service in both the public and private sectors.

 

In addition to Dr. Bawumia, several key ministers in President Akufo-Addo’s administration were also honoured for their dedication and impactful work. Among them were Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Digitisation; Francis Asenso-Boakye, Minister for Roads and Highways; and Chief of Staff Frema Opare.
