President Akufo-Addo has directed the Audior-General Daniel Domelevo to proceed on leave, effective July 1, 2020.
A statement signed by Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin said the Mr Domelevo is to take his 123 annual accumulated leave.
The statement noted that Mr. Domelevo is to hand over all matters relating to his office to his Deputy, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu.
The President’s decision to ask the Auditor-General to proceed on leave is said to be based on sections 20 (1) and 31 of the Labour Act, 2003 (651).
The statement also indicated that the Auditor General has taken only nine out of his 132 working days of his accumulated annual leave since his appointment in December 2016 by Ghana’s former President John Mahama.
