The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has reiterated the party’s promise to establish a Women’s Development Bank if they come into power.

During the NDC’s manifesto launch on Saturday, August 24, in Winneba, Central Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the significance of the bank in empowering female entrepreneurs who struggle to secure loans from traditional financial institutions.

She stressed that an NDC-led government would focus on job creation, reducing financial obstacles, and enhancing the businesses of women entrepreneurs.

“The Women’s Development Bank will be established to empower female entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing low-interest loans, financial education, and sustainable support,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated.

“This initiative will create job opportunities and bring down the financial barriers that many women face when starting and sustaining businesses.”

She further explained that this initiative aims to strengthen female-led businesses and alleviate the harassment they often encounter when seeking financial assistance.

“Additionally, the bank will provide women-led businesses with advisory services and low-interest loans, further supporting their growth and success,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang added.
