Reading have severed ties with English-born Ghanaian midfielder Denzeil Boadu to scout for better option.

The former Manchester City and Dortmund player was on trials with the Royals but has been released after three weeks.

Boadu, 22,  was initially impressive in the first week, showing signs of brilliancy but looked worn out as the time went on and manager Jaap Stam has decided against signing him.

The offensive midfielder made 17 appearances for the second team of Dortmund in the German fourth tier last season before being released at the end of the campaign.
