Reshuffle: Akufo-Addo nominates two Ashanti MPs to head Trade Ministry

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has submitted to Parliament, seven names to be vetted and approved as ministers.

They include two Ashanti MPs – Kobina Tahiru Hammond, Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa Constituency, as Minister for Trade and Industry and Nhyiaeso lawmaker Dr Stephen Amoah who will serve as his Deputy.

Mr Hammond replaces Alan Kyerematen who resigned to pursue his presidential bid ahead of the governing NPP flagbearer elections.

Other appointees

The president also nominated Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong as Minister for Food and Agriculture. The rest are Stephen Asamoah Boateng – Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs; Mohammed Anim Adam – Minister of State in the Finance ministry; Osei Bonsu Amoah – Minister for Local Government and: Herbert Krapah – Deputy Minister for Energy.
