Armed robbers attacked Olam Cocoa Depot at Sikafremogya near Mankranso in the Ahafoano South-West District of the Ashanti Region, and killed 26-year-old man, maiming one other on Thursday.

Briefing DailyMailGH.com, the Ahafoano South-West District Police Commander, Superintendent Richard Boahen, said at about 6pm on Thursday while the District manager of Olam Cocoa Depot at Sikafremogya was disbursing money to the purchasing clerks, two robbers pounced on them from nowhere and opened fire.

The situation let to the death of 26-year-old Yaw Boateng and maiming the left thigh of 67-year Opoku Anane, who is currently on admission at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The robbers then fled from the scene with unspecified amount of money. The police are currently on a manhunt for the robbers.

“We are appealing to the general public to help us with lead to apprehend these robbers,” Superintendent Boahen said.
