An emergency security meeting has been triggered following the killing of a female police officer who was caught up in a suspected robbery attack in Northern Ghana.
Top security chiefs mainly from Regional and District Command in the Region will be holding stakeholder meetings with opinion leaders in various communities in the area as part of efforts to stepping up security.
“So the meeting will bring together officials from the Regional Security Council, Chiefs and other stakeholders to see how to address the growing insecurity in the enclave”, police sources told our correspondent.
Suspected robbery
Gunmen wearing military uniforms shot dead the policewoman at a checkpoint in the Northern region of Ghana Tuesday evening.
The robbers also seized weapons belonging to the police at the checkpoint, the Northern regional crime officer Superintendent Otuo Acheampong, confirmed to Daily Mail GH.
Another police woman also at the checkpoint bolted as her colleague identified as Corporal Agartha was shot dead.
The gunmen bolted with two riffles after their operation.
