Rock City Hotel has withdrawn its bid to purchase 60 per cent shares in four hotels owned by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
The hotels include La Palm Beach, Labadi Beach, Royal Ridge, and Elmina Beach.
This decision follows threats of a strike by Organised Labour, scheduled for Monday, July 15, if SSNIT proceeds with the sale to Rock City Hotel, owned by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.
In a letter to SSNIT’s Director-General, Mr Kofi Osafo-Maafo, Rock City Hotel expressed disappointment at the lack of stakeholder engagement, which they believe fueled negativity around their bid.
Consequently, they have decided to discontinue their pursuit of this investment opportunity.
Promoting transparency, Rock City Hotel has also agreed to release all or parts of its bid documents for public scrutiny or publication if necessary.
