Ghana’s second lady Samira Bawumia escaped death narrowly on Saturday (13 January) as her convoy came into contact with a commercial vehicle on her way to the Ashanti Region.
One person has been confirmed dead while eight others sustained injuries, disaster management officials told Daily Mail GH.
“She is fine,” an aide to the vice president’s spouse told Daily Mail GH regarding the road crash.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred as Samira was en route to the Ashanti Region when a sprinter bus narrowly avoided colliding with her convoy but ended up colliding with two cars following hers.
Tragically, this collision resulted in the loss of one life within Samira Bawumia’s entourage.
The police are yet to officially comment on the incident.
