Security has been beefed up in the Northern Region town of Kpatinga in the Gushegu district, DailymailGh can report.

It follows a deadly chieftaincy feud that left a 55-year-old man dead last week.

Five others have also been wounded and were said to be receiving treatment at various health centers including the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Many houses were set ablaze prompting police response which picked up five persons, police say.

A visit to the community on Monday saw many schools closed indefinitely as some residents were said to have fled the town for safety.

A joint police and military contingent has been stationed in the town pointing to planned further attacks.

The Gushegu Health Center has now become a place for shelter for residents who fear their lives are in danger.

It is not immediately known whether officials will provide aid for these affected victims.
