Metropolitan Chief Executive of Sekondi-Takoradi, Anthony K. K. Sam, has died, dailymailgh.com has learnt.

Presiding Member of the Assembly, John Kwasi Buckman confirmed the unfortunate incident to the media.

He said K.K. Sam died on Friday, June 12, 2020 after battling a short illness.

“It is true the Chief Executive has passed away today, but details of his death cannot be disclosed now. Most of the senior officials are currently at the late Mayor’s house. The last time he was in the office was last Wednesday, but he left feeling unwell after a meeting with some religious leaders,” Accra-based CNR quoted the Presiding Member as saying.

Though the cause of his death is yet to be known, news were rife that the MCE was in self-isolation after his driver tested positive for Covid-19.

Samples of Sam had been taken for testing.

Accra-based Starr FM reported that although the samples of the MCE have been taken, he continued to sit through meetings.
