The Black Stars B of Ghana lost their West African Football Union (WAFU) trophy as they suffered defeat on penalties against host nation Senegal after coming back from a goal down in extra time to force the game to go into penalties before losing it 3-1 on penalties.
The Ghanaians were not at their best as they struggled throughout the game with their lateral defenders being the weakest link in the team.
Senegal took the lead on the 108th minute through youngster Yusif Baldj strike before Accra Hearts of attacker Joseph Esso equalized two minutes later.
The game ended 1-1 but the Stars could not hold their nerves and lost yet another WAFU final on penalties as they did against Libya in 2015.
Hearts of Oak defender Fatawu Mohammed and Asante Kotoko duo Augustine Okrah and Justice Blay missed their spot kicks respectively with Ashgold man Appiah McCarthy being the only one to convert his kick successfully.
Senegal scored full marks from 12 yards converting all three spot kicks which saw them lift the coveted trophy for the first time.
