Former Finance Minister Seth Terkper has expressed strong confidence that John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have the capacity to significantly transform Ghana within just four years if they are given the mandate in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Terkper emphasized the NDC’s impressive track record in national development, arguing that the party’s previous achievements are evident and speak for themselves.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Tuesday, August 27, Terkper highlighted John Dramani Mahama’s leadership qualities, affirming that he is well-equipped to steer the country toward economic improvement. He also pointed to the NDC’s solid governance history, which he believes can be easily verified.
“NDC’s record in office was made clear. If there are any aspects you doubt, we can talk about it. From fiscal management, you know where we ended the year with 6.1. Forget about 9.3, 10.3—it was a lie, and we challenged it,” Terkper stated. He further added, “The IMF corrected it, and we showed you the deficit, the debt, and fiscal performance. So, I am saying the manifesto is based on performance.”
