A fatal accident claimed the life of a woman believed to be in her 60s on Good Friday, dailymailgh.com, can report.
The incident occurred at Sokoban, leaving seven others, including a 7-year-old child, critically injured and undergoing treatment at various health facilities, including the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH)
According to reports, the accident occurred when an urvan passenger bus, registered as AS-2905-19, experienced brake failure and collided with another vehicle.
The victim, in a frantic attempt to escape the impending collision, hastily exited the vehicle. As it overturned in the chaos of the accident, the vehicle crashed down upon her.
She was confirmed dead at the scene.
Residents described the incident as gruesome, highlighting concerns about the poor condition of the Sokoban-Ampayoo stretch, which has been neglected for months.
The dilapidated state of the road has been cited as a contributing factor to the accident.
Assemblyman Kwadwo Boateng, who was present at the scene, expressed concern over the possibility of a rise in the death toll.
He noted that the tragic event had angered the youth in the area, prompting threats of roadblocks in protest against the negligence of road maintenance.
