Bishop Salifu Amoako, the father of a 16-year-old boy involved in a tragic accident in East Legon on October 12, 2024, that claimed the lives of two young girls, has urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors about the incident.

Speaking to his congregation at Alive Chapel International on Sunday, October 20, the well-known religious leader expressed his disappointment with the ongoing speculation surrounding the accident. He emphasized that the crash was a tragic occurrence, not a premeditated action.

Bishop Amoako defended his son, explaining that the accident was not a deliberate crime.

“It was an accident,” he stated. “My son did not carry a gun to kill anybody. He involved himself in a terrible accident, and I am not the one who did it, nor his mother. It is my name, that is why people are talking.”

The bishop believes that the widespread attention on the incident is largely due to his prominence. “If this had been an Okada [motorcycle] accident, who would mention it? It’s only because of my name,” he remarked, urging people to stop making assumptions and instead place their trust in God’s intervention.

The accident involved the boy driving a Jaguar, which led to a deadly fire that trapped and killed two girls. The incident has sparked public debate, with many questioning the circumstances that led to the crash.

Despite the heartache caused by the tragedy, Bishop Amoako asked his congregation and the public to remain patient and allow the legal process to take its course, expressing confidence that the truth will eventually come out.
