Luck eluded a suspected thief Thursday dawn when his head got trapped on top of a store gate for five hours and died later after he bungled his planned heist.
The alleged burglar, only named as Khalifa, shocked residents of Anomangye in the Suame Municipality after he attempted to break into a shop but failed. His head eventually got stuck on top of the metal gate in an attempt to open the shop from inside.
Stuck for five hours, Khalifa was discovered dead by some passersby at about 7a.m who quickly alerted the assemblyman for the area.
Police from the Suame Divisional Command were later called to the scene. The officers confirmed that three other accomplices were being pursued.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
