Ghana’s premier 4G LTE internet service provider, Surfline Communications Limited, is celebrating its 5th anniversary with a special focus on road safety.
Speaking at a press launch in Accra, the CEO of Surfline Rene Gameli-Kwame, said it has become imperative to join the road safety campaign because a lot of drivers use their mobile phones while driving.
“This habit must stop,” Mr. Gameli-Kwame said. “We can’t afford to lose lives who are customers or potential customers on the road because they are browsing or checking emails.”
Surfline on Wednesday joined the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) to visit selected stations in Accra to sensitize drivers about the need to stay safe on the roads.
“The 2018 half year statistics indicates that there has been 6,745 crashes, 6,698 injuries and 1,212 fatalities [on the road],” the CEO mentioned.
He added: “This shows an urgent need to support the road safety campaign to save lives.”
As part of the 5th anniversary celebrations, Surfline is also showing gratitude to its customers by giving “all active and inactive surfplus customers a Happy Hour bundle at 50GB for GHC5.”
The CEO said it was to assure “them of our unflinching support to give them more value to be on our network.”
Mr. Gameli-Kwame expressed appreciation to his staff for their dedication over the years. “Indeed, our staff have played a key role in how far we have come, with a core value of zeal to execute our service. I’ll love to acknowledge the staff of Surfline for being steadfast in the hard times.”
Surfline is a Ghanaian-owned telecommunications network providing super-fast and reliable 4G LTE internet service to homes, businesses and individuals.
In addition to their distributor outlets and shops, Surfline customers can purchase devices and top up accounts from selected Shell Shops across Ghana.
“Surfline is in its fifth year of operating and growing. We are expanding to new coverage areas to bring affordable, high-speed and our true 4G LTE internet service to Ghanaians. These are the few things we are doing to ensure that customers have access to high-speed 4G LTE internet the way it should be,” he added.
Surfline is currently available in Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Takoradi and expanding its services to other parts of the country.
