Drama unfolded at the Sekondi High Court in the Western Region when an aggrieved mother of one of the kidnapped girls slapped one of the suspects just outside the courtroom, Wednesday.
This was after the suspect, Samuel Udoterk pleaded not guilty to charges levelled against him.
Dailymailgh.com’s correspondent reports that Comfort Arhin, mother of Ruthlove Quayson, suddenly pounced on the suspect, when he was being whisked out of court— demanding justice for the crime they believe he has committed.
It took the intervention of the police officers to rescue the accused from heckling.
Family members had to whisk away Aunte Efua, as she is popularly known as police transported the two suspects who have been remanded into separate custodies by the court.
The suspects have been charged with six counts of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
Presiding Judge, Hanna Taylor, subsequently adjourned the case to October 16, 2019 to allow the state Attorney to serve the accused with the charge sheet and the statement of fact as well as present any other witnesses or exhibits at the next sitting.
