Self-made Ghanaian entrepreneur and media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, known in showbiz as ‘Delay’, has shared her inspiring life story.
According to Delay, she was called all sorts of names including being described as ugly, short, dark and lacked good command over the English language, however, she was unperturbed.
Addressing an audience, the host of ‘The Delay Show’ said sometimes people ridicule others out of societal pressure and may not mean harm.
She has therefore called on society to use such moments to spur them on and to prove people wrong.
“When I started out, I was called names; I’m ugly, I’m not beautiful enough, I’m that. It was really hard for us some time ago,” she recalled.
Delay said she had been through tough times including begging for food, but all the struggles were worth it.
