An ex-convict could face court after he broke into the house of a retired policeman at Abidjan-Nkwanta near Kuntanase in the Ashanti Region.
The suspect, 20-year-old Dennis Asiedu together with his accomplices broke into DSP Rtd Jacob Levey’s home on Friday, February 7 and made away with 9mm pistol with 34 rounds of ammunition and some other documents.
The retired officer told the police in the Bosomtwe District that he had returned from trek and saw that his room was broken into and the items could not be traced.
He later saw the suspect wandering around the vicinity with a bag containing the items and immediately arrested him.
Police have since detained the suspect for questioning. He mentioned one Nana Adu who is currently on the run as his accomplice.
The stolen items have since been retrieved from the suspect for further investigations.

Early last week a policewoman was attacked by unknown assailants at Kotei, a community near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Police rounded 20 persons in connection with the incident. They are being screened and interrogated.
