Police in the Western Region have picked up three persons for allegedly killing and beheading a 6-year-old boy, Oscar Tanu at Sefwi-Debiso in the Western Region.
Kwabena Abraham has been named as the key suspect in the beheading of the 6-year-old. Two others including a complainant have also been arrested in connection with the incident.
They have also been identified as Kwabena Dosu aka Kumah and Joe Naaba. The trio have since been remanded into prison custody by a Magistrate Court at Debiso and will reappear on October 13, 2019.
Police say on September 13, 2019, one of the suspects Kumah who lived at Amoa Cocoa Shed at Debiso reported to the police that the prime suspect had killed and beheaded his 6-year-old son under a cocoa tree near Nkrabea, a farming community.
Police accompanied the complainant to the crime scene and found the victim lying supine with the head lying by the foot with a sharp cutlass and a mortar covered with fresh blood.
Kwabena Abraham was arrested and named Kumah— the complainant and Joe Naabaa as accomplices.
Kumah also confessed he had abducted two other boys—Awuni Mohammed and Baba Moro, both 10 years old and were on the waiting list in the custody of Joe Naabaa.
The suspect said he was contracted to kill the victims including the deceased for rituals.
