Three people could face court for robbing a mobile money merchant at Pramso in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
The gun-wielding men allegedly attacked the victim on Monday 23 August at about 7:30pm and robbed her of an amount of GHC18,000.
The suspects were later arrested by the police at the Asokwa District Command and were later identified by the victim.
According to the spokesperson for the Ashanti Region police ASP Godwin Ahianyo, efforts are underway to arrest a fourth suspect who escaped.
“The Asokwa Regional Police command have arrested three suspects in their involvement of an armed robbery attack at Pramso in the Bosomtwi District of the Ashanti Region.
“The suspects are Malik Issaka, 23, Richard Amankwah, 23, and Isaac Bobbie, 23, a barber. These three suspects on Monday 23 August at about 7:30 pm together with one who is at large armed with an AK-47 assault rifle attacked a mobile money merchant at Pramso and robbed her of an amount of GHC 18,000,” he said.
The suspects after robbing the merchant fired indiscriminately to ward off persons who attempted to arrest them, the police said.
They are currently in police custody.
