Lands and Natural Resources Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor (MP) has been appointed caretaker Minister for Trade and Industry, a statement from the Presidency said on Friday.
He takes over from Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta who was appointed caretaker Minister following the resignation of outgoing Minister Alan Kyerematen.
The statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency Eugene Arhin said the appointment will take effect from Monday (16 January) “pending the appointment of a substantive replacement of the outgoing Minister Alan Kyerematen.”
Mr Kyerematen resigned to pursue his presidential bid as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares to hold its primary this year.
