The police have nabbed two persons who allegedly abducted a nine-year-old boy in Zuarungu in the Upper East region of Ghana.
The suspects, Aboziah Dominic, 23, and David Apass, according to a police report, kidnapped the boy in a bush in Duligu, a suburb of Zuarungu.
Police sources say the alleged kidnappers accosted a group of young boys who were on their way home at about 3:00pm Sunday.
The report said the children who were not comfortable with how the men trailed them took to their heels but one of the boys who could not keep up fell off and was picked up by the alleged kidnappers and taken into a nearby bush.
Luck, however, eluded them when an alarm was raised on their suspicious activities in the bush. They took off leaving the victim behind but were subsequently arrested by the police with assistance from community members who identified them.
Two knives and substances suspected to be Indian hemp were found on the suspects when a search was carried on them.
Bolgatanga East District Police Commander, ASP Gabriel Hiamade, told Daily Mail GH the regional police command is handing the case.
