Black Meteors midfielder Michael Agbekpornu admits Group A of next month’s Under 23 AFCON in Egypt is the hardest though it serves as a catalyst for them to excel.

The talented holding midfielder was one of the best players on the night as Ghana defeated Algeria to book a place in the African soccer fiesta.

Agbekpornu, who features for Dreams FC in the local league, is optimistic that the Black Meteors can sail through and book a place in the Olympic Games.

“I think Group A is the toughest. Notwithstanding, it will rather motivate us to give out our possible best so we can play good, win and qualify for 2020 Olympics in Tokyo,” he told Dailymailgh.com.

“It won’t be easy though but with hard work and determination, I know we can make it through.”

Aside his defensive midfield position, Agbekpornu can also play anywhere across the back four.
