Charterhouse has banned Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) indefinitely.

He said the board of the 2019 Ghana Music Awards deemed the actions of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to have flouted the terms and conditions of the scheme, brought the name of the event into disrepute.

This comes as the two artiste were arraigned before court Wednesday and granted bail in the sum of GHC50, 000 each for the chaos that marred the 20th VGMA.
The court also cautioned them to be of “good behavior during the pendency of the case” before it, a statement from the police said.
They have both been charged with offensive conduct while Stonebwoy has an additional charge for displaying weapon in a public place without permission.
The two dancehall artistes pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case has been adjourned to June 20, 2019.
The two popular Ghanaian musicians were arrested Sunday over a brawl on stage during the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The Police are investigating the immediate cause of the near-violent clash that ensued between their fans at the event.
Background
Chaos erupted at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when Shatta Wale and his squad attacked his arch-rival Stonebwoy on stage when the latter was announced as the ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’.
It was a free-for-all fight on the big stage as the two sides clashed forcing Stonebwoy to pull a pistol.
There was total pandemonium at the event as security struggled to restore order forcing the show to halt for over half an hour.
This is the fifth consecutive time Stonebwoy is beating Shatta Wale to the award.
Top celebrities were spotted outside the Accra International Conference Center, where the event was held as they ‘flee’ for safety.
