Black Stars playmaker Christian Atsu provided a crucial assist in Newcastle’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.
The Ghanaian winger was introduced to the match 10 minutes to full time and his assist from a set piece secured a point for the home team.
Manchester City scored first in the 22-minute with a Raheem Starlings goal.
Portuguese International Jetro Willems drew Newcastle level three minutes later after going behind following a nice assist from Miguel Almiron.
The game ended 1-1 going into the break with City expectedly dominating the first half.
Kevin De Bruyne’s 82nd minutes goal appears to have been the last nail on the coffin only for former Liverpool player Jonjo Shelvey to snatch the equalizer with two minutes to end proceedings following a well worked free kick from Atsu.
The game ended 2-2.
