Accra-based Premier League side Hearts of Oak on Friday tasted victory over Togolese club Etoile Filante.
The Rainbow Boys are stepping up with their preparations for the Ghana Premier League which kick-starts on 28 December 2019.
Etoile Filante, a former dominant force in Togo who now play in the second tier of the Togolese football welcomed the Ghanaians for a club friendly.
Hearts of Oak were the better side right from kick off and got their reward inside 36 minutes with a goal-poacher’s goal from winger Mitchell Sarpong.
The first half ended 1-0 to the Ghanaians.
After the recess, the Phobians could have added to their tally but star man Joseph Esso twice failed to convert from close range.
Goalkeeper Richard Ayi made two great saves to deny the home team the equalizer.
Hearts held onto their 1-0 advantage to end the game as winners on the day after losing narrowly to Division One league side Okyeman Planners last weekend.
