A man has been arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, after jumping onto the wing of a plane in an attempt to divert it to Ghana.
The incident sparked commotion in the Azman Air plane as passengers spotted the man on the wing as the aircraft was taxing to the runway at the time the incident occurred last Friday.
A viral video shows a man who illegally gained access to the airside jumping on the wing of a Boeing 737 with hand luggage. Allegedly he put his bag into one of the engines, thinking that’s a good place to store it during the flight.
DailyMailGH understands the pilots had to immediately shut down the engines, to avoid the man being sucked into one of them.
Upon arrest he claimed that he wanted to travel to Ghana.
Africa World Airlines’ Chief Safety Officer even explained how things like this only happen in Nigeria.
