The Blue and Whites recorded their first victory of the season with a hard fought 2-1 win in Sogakope.
Attacker Emmanuel Kyei Baffour scored the opener for the away team to put them ahead in the game in the first half from the spot.
WAFA could not find their way into the game as they went into the break a goal down.
After the recess, the home team looked more dangerous and piled pressure on the visitors. Samson Agyapong equalised for the host in the 71st minute with a well curled shot to draw the home team level.
Liberty Professionals regained their lead six minutes later conceding when striker Mubarak Alhassan pounced on a rebound to make 2-1.
The Academy Boys came close twice for the leveler but their effort was inches wide.
