Captain for Ghana’s Black Stars B team Shafiu Mumuni won the top scorer award at the just ended West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup in Senegal.
The Obuasi Ashantigold skipper scored four goals in the tournament emerging as the top scorer in this year’s tournament.
Mumuni got his first goal in the WAFU competition when Ghana faced Burkina Faso in the quarter – final in a game which ended 1-1 before Ghana progressing to the next stage with a penalty shootouts win.
The in-form attacker bagged an impressive hat-trick in the semi-final as Ghana beat Cote d’Ivoire 3-1 to reach a successive final after winning it in 2017.
Though Mumuni failed to add to his tally in the final game, his four goals were enough to see him win the Golden Boot for Ghana after suffering 3-1 penalty shootout to Senegal after 1-1 draw game.
