Government has declared Wednesday, June 5 should be observed as a statutory public holiday.

The day marks the Eid-al-Fitr celebration by Muslims worldwide to make the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting.

A statement by the Interior Minister Ambrose Dery said: “The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 5th June 2019 which marks the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
