Private legal practitioner and key member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Evans Amankwaah, has provided support to over 100 widows and vulnerable individuals in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The initiative, which aimed to alleviate the burden of rising costs during the festive season, included donations of bags of rice, cooking oil, canned mackerel, among others.
As a resident and legal practitioner in the area, Mr. Amankwaah stressed the importance of giving back to his community.
Speaking at the donation event held on Christmas Day at the Old Palace of the Asokore Mampong Chief, he said, “The Almighty God who created and blessed some of us encourages us to help one another, especially the less privileged. Supporting the less endowed during this festive season brings them joy and fulfillment.”
The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the gesture. Akua Serwaah, one of the widows, shared her appreciation.
“I pray for success, strength, and God’s protection for the donor. May God grant him long life and good health.”
“I pray for good health and long life for the person who gave us this,” another widow, Akosua Serwaa, also said.
Mr. Amankwaah, known for his contributions to legal successes for the NDC in the Ashanti Region, emphasized the fulfillment he derives from supporting the vulnerable.
He also encouraged Ghanaians to remain law-abiding and hopeful, adding, “Let us pray for the success of an incoming John Mahama government to meet the expectations of all citizens.”
