Otto Addo has announced a formidable Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Following Ghana’s disappointing failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 20 years, the national team is set to regroup for their crucial qualification matches later this month.
The 49-year-old coach has assembled a balanced squad, blending youth with experience, for the Matchday five and six encounters.
Leading the team will be Jordan Ayew, who has been named captain. Additionally, Thomas Partey makes his return to the squad after missing the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast due to injury.
Meanwhile, three local players—Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Razak Simpson of Nations FC, and Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC—have earned spots in the squad.
Ghana will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025. Following that, the team will travel to Morocco for a crucial Group I match against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Otto Addo and his players are eager to maintain their impressive form in the World Cup qualifiers. Currently, Ghana sits second in Group I with nine points after four matches.
The Black Stars will commence their training camp in Accra on Monday, March 17, 2025, as they gear up for these vital fixtures.
