The Overlord of Gonjaland, His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, has called on President-elect John Dramani Mahama to prioritize policies that align with the aspirations of Ghanaians as he prepares to assume office.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the President-elect, Yagbonwura emphasized the importance of fulfilling the mandate given by the people.

“It is our fervent hope that as you prepare for your inauguration on January 7, 2025, you will continue to implement policies and programmes that resonate with the aspirations of our people,” he stated.

He reminded Mahama of the responsibility that comes with his leadership, referring to it as a social contract with the citizens of Ghana.

“Mr. President-elect, as you embark on this new chapter, I must remind you that you have entered a social contract with the people of Ghana,” Yagbonwura said.

The Overlord also highlighted that Mahama’s re-election was a testament to the impact of his past leadership. According to Yagbonwura, Mahama’s previous works had been vindicated by posterity, and Ghanaians had reaffirmed their trust in his ability to guide the nation toward progress.

He added, “The renewal of your mandate reflects the confidence of the people in your exemplary leadership and your capacity to take Ghana to greater heights.”

Yagbonwura’s remarks underscored the expectations of Ghanaians as Mahama prepares to lead the country once again.
