Kwabena Frimpong, a Deputy Director of Protocol of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a scathing response to Musah Superior following his recent call for the party’s National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, to abandon plans to set up a committee to investigate the party’s defeat in the just-ended elections.
In an open letter sighted by Dailymailgh.com, Frimpong accused Musah Superior of hypocrisy, highlighting his own tenure as Tamale Mayor under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Frimpong argued that Musah’s leadership style was marred by arrogance and insensitivity, contributing to apathy within the party.
He defended the necessity of the Election Review Committee, emphasizing its role in conducting objective assessments to identify the root causes of the party’s defeat. He criticized Musah for bypassing accountability and promoting divisive rhetoric.
“Election defeats require objective assessments, not sensational opinions driven by personal bias,” Frimpong stated. “Ignoring this process undermines efforts to unify and rebuild the party.”
He further accused Musah of sidelining party executives during his tenure as Mayor, citing reports of contract award controversies and strained relationships with party stakeholders.
Frimpong also highlighted instances of Musah distancing himself from the party after his failed bid for General Secretary in 2022.
He also noted that while the party’s leadership had faced challenges, Musah’s call for mass resignations was counterproductive. He urged the party to focus on unity and strategic planning to recover from the defeat and prepare for the 2028 elections.
“Criticism without actionable solutions only exacerbates existing challenges,” Frimpong added. “The focus should be on building and strengthening the party, not tearing it apart with baseless accusations and divisive rhetoric.”
He concluded by urging Musah to adopt a constructive approach to address internal party issues and contribute to rebuilding trust among party members.
