Ghanaian leader Nana Akufo-Addo has congratulated the newly elected president of the Ghana Football Association.
Akufo-Addo took to his Twitter account to send his congratulatory message to Mr Kurt Okraku, owner of Dreams FC.
“I extend warm congratulations to Mr. Kurt E. S. Okraku on his election as the 24th President of the Ghana Football Association. He has earned the confidence and trust of the football fraternity, and his victory is well-deserved,” Akufo-Addo tweeted.
According to the first gentleman of Ghana, football is the heartbeat of the nation and therefore all football administrators and stakeholders should come together to work with Mr. Okraku to ensure that Ghana football rises to the highest level.
“Football remains the passion of our nation, and I urge all to rally behind him in realising his vision for the growth and development of #Ghana football”, he added.
Okraku replaces former president of the association Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi who has been banned for life by FIFA.
Okraku becomes the second president and the 24th head of the Ghanaian football powerhouse.
